Alleson Buchanan is a neon artist who uses her artwork to illuminate the pressure on womxn to change who they are, when in reality we are perfect. She comes from a long line of powerful women who acquiesce the patriarchy: She however, will not. Her current body of work expresses her inner conflict between the crushing expectations of others and just being her bold, confident, tenacious self. Her aim is to shed literal light on injustice and offer a physical beacon of hope in these revolutionary times.

Alleson is a full time arts entrepreneur, supporting independent artists since 2013. In 2016 she founded Glass Elevator Arts Consulting to equip artists for success. Feeling like an artist without a medium, Alleson patiently waited for the right fit. When she took her first neon course in 2018, she immediately knew she’d found her calling as a neon artist.

Alleson has carved a non traditional path for herself in neon. She founded and operates an inclusive neon studio and pushes herself to constantly improve her glass bending skills. In addition to creating her own body of work, Alleson is passionate about using her studio as a platform to support fellow emerging womxn and BIPOC neon artists by providing affordable access to an otherwise inaccessible craft.

Alleson holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University and owns and manages Radiant Neon in Seattle, Washington.
