FAQs
-
No prior experience is required for our workshops! Just curiosity and patience with the material.
-
The studio is located on Bryant Street in the Mission / SoMA area of San Francisco.
-
Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty and can move easily in. The studio can be cold on cooler days, while the fires run hot—layers are strongly recommended.
-
Workshops include enough clear glass and the tools you need to bend it for our time together.
Materials to light up (“bombard”) the piece, such as electrodes, noble gases, and power supplies are available, starting at $450.
For Immersive or Group classes interested in making something specific, purchasing your own glass may be recommended. We will work with you on this during booking!
-
The studio is located on the second floor of an industrial workshop space with no elevator.
There is street parking available on Bryant Street. We recommend using common city safety measures when parking on this street.
-
Neon is an expressive but unpredictable material. Breakage is common, especially for beginners, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. We encourage you to keep expectations flexible and let the material guide the work.
While the goal is for students to leave with a completed piece, finishes are not guaranteed. Time constraints, material limits, and the nature of glass can require additional sessions or fees to complete work beyond the scope of the class.
-
Students wishing to create specific designs must enroll in an IMMERSIVE class. Even then, text and complex forms are not guaranteed, regardless of experience level. Abstract classes do not include specific design work.

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and is non-refundable. No exceptions. No kidding.
One reschedule is permitted with a $75 rescheduling fee.
Thank you for respecting the time and resources required to operate the studio.
