EXHIBITIONS

She Bends’ curatorial practice foregrounds neon as a contemporary art form shaped by craft, identity, and lived experience. Our exhibitions highlight women and gender-expansive artists who bend their own glass, exploring themes of material lineage, cultural memory, spirituality, repair, and embodied knowledge. We approach curation as collaborative scholarship—centering the hands, histories, and pedagogies that have shaped this craft for more than a century.

She Bends has organized and curated projects with museums and cultural partners including the Museum of Craft and Design San Francisco, the Museum of Glass Tacoma, the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, and the Museum of Neon Art Los Angeles. These exhibitions bring neon into dialogue with sculpture, performance, architecture, and conceptual practice, expanding public understanding and institutional knowlege of neon’s living legacy.
